The Board of Directors of World Trade Center Northern California is thrilled to announce that John Shea has been hired as the new President and CEO. With a proven track record in economic development and international business, John brings a wealth of experience, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to advancing WTCNC’s mission.

John was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in the New England region. He holds degrees in Economics and Sovietology, and has overseas work experience in the Ukraine, Falkland Islands and through numerous short assignments abroad. After working in international petroleum markets, John’s career has principally focused on public policy, international affairs, economic development, and planning roles. John has led a half-dozen non-profit organizations, owned his own company with a partner which fostered life-cycle foreign investment in New England green technologies, and engaged throughout his career with government officials at all levels, business leaders, and other stakeholders including non-profit organizations.

“I am excited about returning to California, where I began my career after college, and being part of such a dynamic and important organization as the WTCNC,” John says. “I look forward to working with my board and staff to strengthen the WTC and its programs, and to meeting all the diverse partners and communities in the region.”
